Hello world!

My name is Joel.  I am a Christian, a husband, and a father of two.  I am the son of a builder, a surveyor and mapper by trade, and a creator at heart.  I love to laugh, and to learn, to be active, and to work.

In the Spring of 2018, I made the decision to step away from the career that I had poured the last twenty years of my life into…….to take a leap of faith.

What led me to that decision is another story altogether, but one which began with the realization that I was on the wrong path.  The “success” I worked so hard to achieve was not energizing me, but rather quite the opposite.  I had lost the spark somewhere along the way and needed to find it again.  Something had to change, and I knew it was me.

I did not have a plan as I took those first steps but had instead resolved to put my trust in God and, for perhaps the first time in my adult life, truly surrender to His leading.

The journey thus far has been very different from the one that I would have envisioned and yet, at the same time, precisely what I’ve needed.  As I come to know and trust the Lord a little more each day, He teaches me a little more about myself and the unique purpose for which I was created.

This spiritual awakening has been life changing for me, and it is my hope that the content on this website might help someone else to know and experience that same renewal.
